M8 HSS-G combination drill tap – a tool for structures and hydraulic installations
M8 combination drill tap is a robust combination tool made of HSS-G steel that drills a hole with a diameter of 6.8 mm and cuts an M8 metric thread in a single cycle. The 2-in-1 technology reduces machining time by 50 percent and eliminates tool change downtime. Ideal for CNC toolrooms, maintenance shops, and production departments involved in assembling medium-sized steel structures and hydraulic installations.
Key benefits of the M8 combination drill tap
- Efficiency in assembling medium-sized structures – eliminating tool changes between drilling and tapping speeds up assembly work in CNC toolrooms and maintenance workshops
- Accuracy of class 6H threads – HSS-G high-speed steel provides the precision required for installing hydraulic equipment, assembling structural components, and manufacturing industrial subassemblies
- Versatility in metal machining – the tool performs well in structural steels up to 900 N/mm², aluminum, and brass; using coolant extends tool life
- Universal straight shank with square drive – compatible with tapping chucks, pillar drills, and CNC machining centers
- Durability in industrial environments – HSS-G steel maintains its cutting performance during intensive use in assembling industrial installations
This M8 combination drill tap is used by more than 370 maintenance departments in the structural fabrication and hydraulics industries for its reliability and versatility. M8 combination drill tap is used in hydraulic system assembly and the fabrication of steel structures and medium-sized industrial installations. Frequently asked questions
This tool is designed for structural steels with a maximum tensile strength of 900 N/mm², as well as aluminum and brass. Use in hardened and stainless steels with a hardness exceeding 45 HRC is not recommended.
Operate at speeds from 270 to 450 rpm and always use coolant when machining steel. The workpiece must be securely clamped, and accumulated chips must be regularly removed from the tool flutes.
This universal 2-in-1 tool completes the entire operation without predrilling a pilot hole. Spot drilling to a depth of 2-3 mm is recommended for more accurate guidance.
