1/4-20 BSW Whitworth hand taps
Whitworth1/4-20 BSW hand taps for making Whitworth type BSW ordinary internal threads, diameter 1/4 - 20, BS-84:1956, through and blind, with an angle of 55 degrees. They are sold in a set, which includes three threaders: pre-threader with an 8P cutter, peeler with a 4P cutter and in finisher with a 2P cutter. The tools are made of modern, high-quality HSS high speed steel - SW7M.
This is a modern high-speed steel, which gives measurable results when threading holes. First of all, its advantages are high cutting performance, much higher resistance to harsh machining conditions, as well as increased resistance of the thread cutter blade to possible breaking, chipping, cracking, blunting and other types of damage. Thanks to the above-described properties of high-speed steel, 1/4-20 BSW hand taps are suitable for machining materials of categories P1.2 - P1.3 (unalloyed steels, metals, metal alloys, plastics). Inch pipe threads are used for all kinds of mechanical connections of equipment and fittings. They are cut most often on pipes and components for their connections.
