The fine-coil machine taps in question were produced from modern HSS - High Speed Steel. This is a modern material with extremely high cutting properties. M18x1 long threaders made of HSS are characterized by high resistance to harsh working conditions, including the high temperature created when machining hard materials at high speeds. The blades of the taps are resistant to temperatures as high as 600 degrees C. They are not subject to breakage, chipping or chipping, which significantly extends their service life.
