Extra long drill bit for metal 18
Ø18 extra-long metal drill bit is a straight-shank twist drill intended for steel and cast iron in typical workshop and industrial tasks. Its exceptional length makes it ideal for deep-hole drilling and wherever increased tool reach is required. It can machine carbon steel, free-cutting steel, structural steel, gray cast iron, aluminum bronze, nickel silver (Cu-Zn-Ni alloy), tin-zinc bronze, electronic-grade copper, and ductile brass. It can also drill alloy steel with an ultimate tensile strength Rm up to 1200 N/mm², zinc alloys and zinc, and malleable cast iron.
This professional extra-long straight-shank twist drill is ground in accordance with DIN 1869 from modern, high-grade high-speed steel (HSS) and meets the requirements of the Polish NWKp standard. The 118° point angle allows drilling to begin without prior center drilling (center punching). Available in our store Ø18 extra-long metal drill bit in the NWKp version has a diameter of 18 mm and lengths of 335/245 (overall length / flute length) and is designed for drilling very deep holes. The properties of HSS provide high resistance to demanding operating conditions, including the high temperatures generated during high-speed drilling. This results in more productive and accurate machining — holes remain straight along their entire length and have low surface roughness. The tool performs well on both conventional drilling machines and modern CNC machine tools.
