Carbide chamfer mill Ø12 90° – CNC countersinking and chamfering
The Ø12 mm 90° carbide chamfer mill is a professional tool made of solid carbide (VHM) with a TiAlN coating, designed for countersinking screw heads, chamfering hole edges and deburring after drilling. Three cutting edges (Z-3) ensure stable cutting in steels, aluminum, brass and cast iron, while the straight shank allows mounting in CNC machining centers and drilling machines.
Key advantages of the Ø12 90° carbide chamfer mill for metal
- Countersinking for screw heads – the 90° angle perfectly matches DIN 74 for countersunk head screws, ensuring that the head seats fully in the material
- Solid carbide (VHM) with a hardness of approximately 1600 HV – extends tool life to up to three times that of HSS and withstands high operating temperatures
- TiAlN coating for maximum performance – hardness above 3000 HV reduces friction and allows dry machining or machining with minimal coolant
- Cutting stability – three evenly spaced cutting edges eliminate vibration and ensure a smooth countersunk surface
- Ready for CNC machining – the straight shank allows quick mounting in ER collet chucks and direct programming on CNC machines
The Ø12 mm 90° carbide chamfer mill is chosen by machinists and CNC operators for countersinking holes for countersunk head screws and precision edge chamfering. It is suitable for series production of steel, aluminum and cast iron components. Choose a tool with proven performance – order now and improve your machining precision.

Frequently asked questions
The 90° chamfer mill is primarily designed for countersinking screw heads in accordance with DIN 74, as well as chamfering hole edges and deburring after drilling.
This tool performs excellently in steels with a tensile strength of up to 1200 MPa, as well as aluminum, brass and gray cast iron. The TiAlN coating also allows machining of materials hardened to 55 HRC.
The 90° chamfer mill produces a cone with a point angle of 90°, ideal for countersinking for countersunk head screws (DIN 74). The 60° chamfer mill produces narrower chamfers, mainly used to prepare holes for tapping and remove small burrs.
