Turning chuck 125 self-centering

Turning chuck125 self-centering allows you to fix workpieces of regular shape (cylindrical, square, hexagonal). The operation of the self-centering chuck is based on the immobilization of the workpiece by means of jaws. The jaws of the chuck can be spread and retracted with the help of a key placed in the socket. The jaws of the lathe chuck 125 descend evenly (concentrically) to the center of the chuck and, similarly, spread evenly.

The125 self-centering lathe chuck is differentiated by the number of jaws, among other things. There are two-jaw, three-jaw, four-jaw and six-jaw chucks on the market. The most popular and universal lathe chucks are three-jaw self-centering chucks. They owe their popularity to their wide range of applications in unit and small batch production.

The125 three-jaw spiral lathe chucks can be equipped with regular jaws and reverse jaws.

- ordinary (inner) jaws are usually used for smaller workpieces. The gripping surface is on both the inside and outside sides

- reverse (outside) jaws are usually used for larger workpieces. The gripping surface is on the inside

The lathe chuck belongs to a group of tools in the machine tooling category. The turning chuck comes standard with a set of external jaws (SJZ-uniform external jaws) and internal jaws (SJW - uniform internal jaws), chuck fastening screws and a turning jaw wrench. The 125 lathe chuck itself includes parts such as three gears, a spiral disc. The gears of the lathe chuck 125 serve as an intermediate part between in the movement of the jaws. The key, through its rotation in the socket of the gear wheel, moves the spiral disc, which changes the position of the lathe jaws, that is, brings them concentrically closer together or moves them away in the same way.

The lathe chuck 125 can also be used for a milling machine when we have a circular workpiece to clamp - a shaft. Such a solution is often used when milling electrodes.

The ground working surfaces ensure a longer service life with accuracy and repeatability. The lathe chuck 125 is mounted in the spindle of the machine tool with the help of a driver disc on the back of the chuck. It is an indispensable tool for turners.

The machining of the workpiece on the lathe requires accurate clamping in the lathe chuck 125. There are three basic types of workpiece clamping on the lathe:

-clamping in the tusk

-clamping in the chuck or on the mandrel

-clamping in a chuck with tusk support.

Each of the mounts has different characteristics. Clamping in the lathe chuck 125 is a very strong restraint of the workpiece, which allows both roughing and finishing. Jaw lathe chucks can be divided into self-centering and with independent jaw positioning.
