Worm milling cutter for gears in class B

The worm milling cutter is used for serial and mass processing of gears by the envelope method. The blades of this cutter are formed by cutting the coils of the worm with chip grooves inclined with respect to its axis at an angle equal to the angle of elevation of the helical line of the coils measured on a pitch cylinder of diameter Dp. After the chip grooves are milled at an angle of 25 degrees, the blades are staggered in the radial direction.
